Hardox® 500 Tuf is the world’s hardest wear plate with structural properties. It delivers high strength, high hardness and guaranteed toughness in a single wear plate – a truly outstanding material for the most demanding applications. It has proved itself worldwide in truck and tipper bodies, containers, mining dumpers, buckets and other attachments, agricultural equipment, liners and wear parts. Thanks to its toughness, it can perform as a structural material in recycling containers, dump bodies, buckets and other heavy-duty products, even in freezing conditions. Combining the best properties from Hardox® 450 and Hardox® 500, it’s your go-to wear plate with no real competition on the market.
Hardox® 450 has a solid reputation as a highly versatile, abrasion-resistant steel that also has structural properties. With an extra 50 HBW hardness over AR 400 grades, it provides additional wear resistance for an extended service life. The hardness also increases the steel’s strength, with better dent resistance as a result. The high toughness also in cold conditions ensures that equipment can take impact forces without compromising its structural integrity.
Hardox® 400 is an all-around wear resistant steel with a nominal hardness of 400 HBW. It’s well suited for moderate wear applications that require high toughness, good bendability and excellent weldability.
These abrasion-resistant steels are targeted at severe wear applications requiring limited structural performance. Hardox® 500 has a nominal hardness of 500 HBW for long service life while maintaining good processability and toughness. Hardox® 500 is used in applications such as liner plates, grizzly bars, wear bars and other wear parts in wear-intense industries.
Hardox® 550 has a nominal hardness of 550 HBW and toughness close to Hardox® 500. It gives higher wear resistance, but not at the expense of crack integrity. Hardox® 550 offers wear life improvements when replacing lower hardness steel grades or manganese steels. Typical applications include liner plates for crushers, chutes and other processing equipment, or hammers in recycling.
Hardox® 600 has a nominal hardness of 600 HBW and a uniquely high toughness for such a hard steel. While targeted at more severe wear conditions, Hardox® 600 can still be cut and welded, making it an excellent choice for high-performance applications. Hardox® 600 has been successfully used in cement plants for concrete brick molds, tables and compactors; as liner plates and screed plates in material handling and mineral processing; as liners for stationary concrete mixers; and as hammers and knives in recycling and waste fragmentation.
Hardox® Extreme is the world’s hardest wear plate with a nominal hardness of 60 HRC (Rockwell) and a typical hardness of 650-700 HBW. Hardox® Extreme is intended for applications with extremely high demands on abrasion resistance, such as liner plates. In glass recycling equipment, Hardox® Extreme both reduces lifecycle cost and extends service life without degrading the finished product.
Hardox® HiTuf is an abrasion-resistant steel plate with guaranteed impact toughness of 40 J at -40°C (-40°F). Hardox® HiTuf steel with a nominal hardnessof 350 HBW makes a perfect choice for thick plate applications demanding extreme toughness and structural properties. It can in many cases replace castings or cast parts. It is commonly used as a structural wear part for thick cutting edges for large mining buckets and shovels, demolition tools and rippers, and where wear bars and shrouds protect the underlying structure.
Hardox® HiAce is a corrosion-resistant wear steel that helps to meet the challenges of acidic and corrosive wear environments found in garbage trucks, containers and recycling facilities, pulp, paper and sawmill environments, waste-to-energy plants and biomass facilities, and in ore mining and other process industries. Hardox® HiAce features the same excellent wear properties as Hardox® 450, with a nominal hardness of 450 HBW.
Hardox® HiTemp is a high-heat grade of Hardox® wear plate. It provides a cost-efficient solution for wear resistance at high temperatures up to 500°C (930°F) with a nominal hardness of 400 HBW. When traditional quenched and tempered wear-resistant steels lose hardness at higher temperatures, Hardox® HiTemp steel still delivers high wear resistance. Its properties are achieved by using high-quality raw material combined with a carefully controlled manufacturing process. Hardox® HiTemp can be cut, welded and machined using the same kind of machinery and technology as for conventional steel. Typical applications include dryers in asphalt plants, clinker cooler plates and liners in cement plants, blast furnace components, slag tippers and buckets in steel mills, power plant equipment, foundries and liner plates, gypsum and clinker hammers in crushers.
Hardox® round bars offer a through-thickness hardness with excellent toughness values. Hardox® round bars combine a high nominal hardness (400 HBW), toughness and weldability in a way that makes them unique in the market. They come in a wide range of dimensions and feature the same properties as the wear plate. Typical applications include wear parts and components for harvesters, sieving buckets, agricultural machinery, pins, rods, axels, and other components for buckets and machinery in construction, material handling and mineral processing, mining and drilling. In short, it makes a great fit in applications requiring a round steel bar that offers high wear resistance and good weldability.
Hardox® tubes and pipes provide extreme performance and extended service life. Hardox® 400 tubes and pipes have a nominal hardness of 400 HBW, while Hardox® 500 tubes and pipes have a nominal hardness of 500 HBW. Both are great choices when you need high wear resistance and a lighter product. Hardox® tubes are used for transporting all types of abrasive materials, such as wet concrete, soil, gravel, ore slurry and iron ore pellets in steel mills. They can replace costly wear products like hard-faced overlay pipes and high chrome white iron.
