Today, the steel industry accounts for 7% of the world’s total carbon dioxide emissions. Something needs to change to get the figure down to zero. So, we are changing. SSAB aims to be the first steel company, in 2026, to offer fossil-free steel to the market and largely eliminate carbon dioxide emissions from our own operations in around 2030.
